SOLO SHOW | SKINNED • Pacamorf and the gullible babble @ Printa edition | Budapest, HU

A space, a cage, and a "living" figure. The journey began with a painting of the artist's dream, and over time, these three elements gradually evolved. The space became increasingly defined, and the figure was filled with material again and again until it became a distinct entity with its own personality and story. But can something seem alive that is unlike anything we are familiar with? What part do our various senses and empathy play in this? In addition to artistic intuition and experimentation, Janca Lili's art project, Pacamorf, is shaped by these questions.
In the narrative of the exhibition Skinned, the artist's resurfacing cage motif appears to dissolve, and the entity that has been continuously "nurtured" seems liberated. Its environment, organized in abstract compositions, is shaped by items that evoke childhood and nostalgia. The recurring motifs in the art pieces suggest the simultaneous existence of the various scenes, dissolving the linearity of time.
LACA, DADA, and LAVA, the alter-egos of Pacamorf, are also present within the Printa edition's walls. The experimental objects, coated in molded silicone and completed with a zipper, carry a symbol of metamorphosis. Thus, the exhibition's title, Skinned, refers to the physical qualities of the artist's new creations and the various, overlapping layers of identity.
Lili Janca, intermedia artist, completed her Master’s degree in Media Art at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2020. Her interdisciplinary works exist at the intersection of fine art and natural science, and as a co-creator, she is also interested in contemporary music. Her work investigates the interplay between new media, technological possibilities, and the artistic process.
Special thanks to my family, Laura Lanczki, Alexa Major, Milán Makó, Zoé Nemes, János Sugár and Bálint Varga.
